The Internship Review 2013

Standard

Vince-Vaughn-and-Owen-Wilson-back-together-for-new-movie-The-InternshipIt was a rainy afternoon when I decided to watch a film and my interest leads me to watch the movie “The Internship” which was directed by Shawn Levy. The plot of the story was about the two guys who became jobless when the company closed due to poor sales. Nick and Billy decided to enroll themselves as interns in Google, just to achieve their dream. However, they need to compete with these technology savvy geniuses before they could live their dream and get better employment. What Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson could offer? Is this another one of a kind comedy?

The film was so simple

I do like Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn a lot so I was glad that they have another film out in the theater. But, honestly the film plot was so simple. There were a few insignificant scenes which makes me think why they include that unimportant scene or why did they stick more on that scene. The storyline was not that inviting and fascinating, but since Vince and Owen were there, they could still give something good in the film.

Vince was funnier and more comic than Owen

When it comes to the actors, Vince and Owen have managed to do their job well again, but Vince was funnier and more comic than Owen. However, their combination has been good just like on their previous film, the Wedding Crashers. The supporting actors such as Tobit Raphael, Tiya Sircar, Josh Brenner and Dylan O’Brien were also performing great when they teamed up with both Nick (Owen) and Billy (Vince). Max Minghella who was a troublesome rival to Nick and Billy did a good job, but his British accent was quite annoying. Rose Bryne, who played as the love partner for Nick was not that lively in the scenes.

The romance of Rose and Nick was artificial and forced

The relationship of Rose and Nick was artificial and forced. I was not very convinced of their relationship. I never felt that there was something going on in both of them.   I think the director and the writer just wanted to please the female viewers with the romantic parts.

The focused is the Google and Googleplex

The focused on this movie is the Google and Googleplex, so there were several product advertisements in the scenes. They were so high-tech, innovative, colorful and awesome. I don’t know if all the facilities were through at the Google central office.

Well, it is not the best comedy movie, but I think it will be good to watch. It was a good and entertaining one. Whether you will watch it alone or with your family or friends, you will still enjoy it.

The Kings of Summer 2013

Standard

kings-summerThe Kings of Summer is a recent comedy drama movie that talks about the three teenagers who escape the modern city life and stay in the open land of a forest. The concept of this movie is good but the profundity does not get at the maximum level. As a debut movie of director Jordan Vogt-Roberts the “The Kings of Summer” shows his directorial talent and also an area for improvement.

He wanted to present the current adolescent behavior and their desire of fun and life. Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts got the right cast like Nick Robinson (Joe), Gabriel Basso (Patrick) and Moises Arias (Biaggio) who perform on the three teenagers  in the movie.

The Script and Characters

Despite the fact that this movie has great actors and some sequences are captivating and beautiful, but the script by writer Chris Galleta is over pointing the emotional meaning of its scenarios. There are also few moments in the movie and some characters which reality  wise is a little off. Some characters are bland and plain. The script has a strong desire to have a comedy and drama and it can be seen a lot in this film but the thing is it never hit the spot whether it would like to be realistic or surrealistic and it truly scathes the flow of the events. Energy is full, but there are scenes that the character’s energy is so overstated. The characters are not that well-examined before the film has that theatrical get-go.

Scenes

Bringing up the sense of humor in the funny sceneries is important to convince that it’s comic. Well, there are a few entertaining moments imagespresent in this movie like some conversations of the three teenagers, the behavior of the two policemen, the comedy routine of Patrick’s parents and Biaggio’s straight-faced line delivery. But there are some scenes as well that are either impelled or unfocused. The progression of the is movie sometime misdirecting viewers and in some degree there are unnecessary dialogue and scenes. Unbelievable aspects are shown like where they clouted architect designs for their house, random violin playing in the midst of the woods and much more.

Well, all in all, this movie is still interesting to watch. Even though there are some negative points but as you will look at the positive points of this film, it is striving to be funny, original, and life changing. Since, it has talented and great cast of actors, it makes the movie still an option for viewing.

Escape from Planet Earth Review 2013

Standard

picture2life_43347_originalIn the early months of the year, Escape from Planet Earth is one of the new released animations adventure comedy movie. Looking at the movie, it was about the story of captured aliens who were subjected to create or to invent state-of-the-art and handy gadgets that mere Earthmen could never have  thought or produce.

The Plot

At first, I thought Escape from the Planet Earth had a unique and interesting story. Since most of the time we saw movies that aliens were the villains and Earthmen were heroes, but here you could see it in the other way around in which the earth men are enemies and aliens are the stars. But, while watching the movie, it couldn’t hold on its zeal. The storyline was one-dimensional, the dialogs are plain and the scenes are stereotyped. The concept was good but it lacked excitement, profoundness and consistent gags. This animated movie has a mediocre plot but as what I observed around kids really laughed at it so I think it was suited for children. The wits and jokes of the film couldn’t tease the mind of the adults to the extent. I liked it because it was quite fun, but don’t expect a lot of the film so that you won’t be upset or disappointed. It was just moderately entertaining.

Cast Voices

The voices of some of the cast which includes Brandon Fraser, Rob Corddry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba, William Shatner, Sofia Vergara, Steve Zahn and Ricky Gervais were great. Their voices were fitted on the characters but there were voices that I think didn’t fit like George Lopez’s voice to his character he played known as “Thurman” and Jane Lynch’s voice to her character named “Lo”. I think George Lopez’s voice suited for tough, rough and bulky character and Jane Lynch’s voice there was quite annoying. But aside from their voices, some other voices were perfectly executed and delivered substantive performances.

The visuals were beautiful

The story was plain and linear yet the textures and background were bright and colorful. The graphics were good. The songs were also catchy but they were not placed perfectly on every scene. Shooting star was a nice song.

Finding of Fact

This movie is not great, but not bad either. If you want to have bonding with your children, this movie is a good choice. The kids will be surely entertained by this film since children love animation.
